Salary: Aligned to NHS Scotland Consultant Terms and Conditions of Service with 8% availability uplift 
Hours: Up to 1.6 WTE posts with flexibility of 2-10 sessions per week for successful applicant(s).

CHAS is expanding our team of doctors ahead of the retirement of our Medical Director, likely to be in the summer of 2022. There are exciting opportunities to join an established service delivering care in two children’s hospices and CHAS at Home, as well as close co-partnership working with children’s supportive and palliative teams in the three children’s hospitals across Scotland. 
We support around 400 children with palliative care needs and their families every year 
Day to day work leading the clinical care of children resident in our hospices 
We work very closely with NHS teams in every health board in Scotland 
Part of multiagency meetings on a weekly basis 
Team of Three Advanced Nurse Practitioners (ANPs) 
Five Trainee ANPs with further investment to come 
Lead Specialist Pharmacist 
Family support team offer outstanding holistic care 
Excellent nursing team across hospice and community 
Strong clinical and professional development 
Clear medical on call policy and standard operating procedures 
Contributes to the support for out of hours care by working a 1 in 4 aspiring to be a 1 in 5 on call rotation for the out of hours periods. 
Project ECHO (Extension for Community Healthcare Outcomes) a collaborative model of clinical education and care management. 
We are very keen to hear from candidates who may want to perform this role as part of an overall portfolio, whilst continuing with your work in e.g. Paediatrics, Adult Palliative Medicine or General Practice. 
About You 
You will be committed to working with children who have complex medical care needs, and their families, proven through your experience of Paediatrics, Palliative Medicine or General Practice. You will value working as part of a multi disciplinary team, whilsthaving the knowledge and confidence to also work independently as required. 
CHAS does not hold clinical responsibility for children who are not resident at a CHAS hospice. However, increasingly families are being offered choices of place of care at end of life and CHAS may be part of the multi-agency team around children and their families. You will have the opportunity to be part of that collaborative team around the child approach.
